I began a casual relationship with yoga in the 1990's at the YMCA when we were stationed at Ft. Lewis, Washington. I did yoga from VHS tapes when we lived in Germany. When we moved to La Grande,Oregon, I practiced Hatha yoga with a program on television and also at the gym. When we moved to Boise, Idaho in 2009 I began a serious relationship with my yoga practice, exploring Bikram, Ashtanga, Hot Vinyasa and any other yoga I could find. After 2 years of regular practice, I had a revelatory experience in savasana of having my mind quiet at the same time as my body was still. This experience changed my life and was the start of my desire to become a yoga teacher. As a busy mom of 6, wife to an obstetrician, and primary caretaker of our hobby farm (gardens, cows, chickens, pigs, dogs, cats) it was difficult to find the time to pursue this passion. But finally in 2016 I completed my 200 hour teaching with LifePower yoga. I have continued to pursue my yoga education completing an additional 300 hour certification with LifePower yoga and I am currently pursuing a second 300 hour certification with Yinspiration. I also have a degree from Stanford University in Human Biology.
I love teaching, yoga in particular, but I have taught Sunday School, group fitness, children's singing, library story time and homeschooled my elementary aged children. I have taught around 3000 yoga classes. I love to see the aha moments, my students experience in their yoga practices. I continue to be a student of yoga, attending classes regularly, and studying yoga teachings and practices. I am passionate about passing on my knowledge and love of yoga to other teachers so together we can spread the peace of yoga through our communities. I truly believe yoga can change individuals, communities and the world for the better.
Adrienne's journey into yoga began amid the high-pressure world of the corporate sphere. Her pursuit of maintaining a healthy lifestyle during her travels across the nation, working in the beverage industry, led her to discover the transformative power of yoga.
Starting with her RYT-200 Power Yoga Teacher Training, Adrienne found her calling and continued to expand her knowledge by completing her RCYT-95 and RYT-500 Advanced Yoga Teacher Training. As a devoted mother of two girls, she dedicated herself to deepening her practice and fostering connections with her students, including children, encouraging them to integrate yoga into all aspects of their lives.
Adrienne's passion for yoga and teaching propelled her to establish FamilyFlow Yoga®, a mobile yoga studio offering a 95 Hour Registered Yoga Alliance Teacher Training, yoga programs in schools, and specialized classes for families within her community. With an impressive 7,000+ hours of teaching experience and over 1,000 hours of training, Adrienne is committed to guiding students and yoga instructors toward their spiritual and physical peaks.
The pandemic-induced closure of many yoga studios in San Antonio inspired Adrienne to address the challenges faced by yoga teachers. Recognizing the need for further mentorship and advanced training beyond the foundational 200-hour certification, she founded The Vibrant Yoga Leadership Institute in 2023. Vibrant Yoga Leadership offers a 300 Hour Registered Yoga Alliance Advanced Teacher Training Program, aiming to support teachers in embracing the profound responsibilities of their role without the financial burden of exorbitant training costs.
Beyond her teaching and leadership initiatives, Adrienne co-hosts the podcast "How Yoga Changed My Life." When not on the mat or behind the mic, she cherishes moments with her family—her husband Brian, two daughters, and their beloved Bernese Mountain dogs. An ardent reader, writer, and perpetual learner, Adrienne embraces life with an insatiable thirst for knowledge and growth.
